A Japanese Christmas Edition 🎄🎌

What do you do when you’ve already celebrated Christmas 32 times as a company and you still want to have an original theme? Well… you organise a Japanese-style Christmas party in Rotterdam, of course! 😄

This year we decided to do something totally different – immerse ourselves in the spirit of Japan with a mix of cultural activities, delicious food, and a lot of fun. And what an amazing day it was!

The adventure kicked off in De Kuip with a Taiko drumming class 🥁, which we honestly never thought would be as intense as it was! Within just one hour we managed to perform a full composition as a group and, surprisingly, we actually sounded really good! 🎶 A huge shout-out to Patrick Streng, who somehow managed to keep everyone in rhythm, even when things were going a little offbeat.

Next up was our Judo class🥋, where we got to experience the discipline and joy of the martial art. It was amazing to learn new moves, but let’s not forget the unforgettable moment when Dennis van der Geest literally was throwing Remko, our jubilee of the day, around during a demo of the next moves Dangerous activity!

The evening ended with a delicious authentic Japanese-style dishes 🍱 at the amazing Kyatcha Hospitality Group restaurant where each round of dishes turned out to be even more delicious than the previous one.

Luckily we had a much needed walk after all this food before we arrived at the Dukes of Tokyo where we got busy in karaoke 🎤, dancing 💃, and even opera singing class ! Who knew we had so many hidden talents? Thanks to our amazing Quirine Melssen, who showed us that singing can actually be fun, but still not too easy. And of course an unforgettable massage session for Remko as an additional present from our opera star!

But the fun did not stop there. The next day we unleashed our inner Mario & Princess Peach and enjoyed an exciting go-kart race 🏎️ at Race Planet Delft, where after the 2 hours competition we got our winner ‘Team 13’, who managed to make 95 laps – such an impressive result. As people left the track a bit white around the nose and totally exhausted, we all got a good feeling on how hard and energy consuming this race actually was!

All in all, this was truly a fantastic opportunity to come together as a team, try something new, and create memories that will last for years. Huge thanks to everyone who made this event unforgettable. What a wonderful ending of the year – full of joy, laughter, and amazing food!
